After carving your pumpkin into some amazing design, periodically mist it with water.

If you find that your jack-o-lantern`s edges have begun to curl, soak it in a tub of water overnight so that it will re-hydrate.
To slow the aging process, take the pumpkin (when it`s not on display) and wrap it in plastic wrap before sticking it in the fridge.
You could also take a damp towel and cover the jack-o-lantern with it when it`s not on display.
