Healthy Snack: Olives

This is a food that me and my son adore. We will pull out some black olives and go to town on them. My husband thinks it is gross... he doesn`t like them. Me and my son find them to be delicious.

I prefer to buy them pitted but have bought the big ones with the pit/seed still in them. I don`t give the non seedless ones to my son, though. I don`t trust him to eat just the flesh off and leave the seed behind, lol!

They are kind of salty and meaty, if that makes sense. They are good completely on their own but I also like to use them to top pizzas, stuffed, as a stuffing, in pastas, etc. I try to keep at least a can of them in the house. My son will randomly ask for some so it is best that I have some available, lol!

I enjoy green olives, too, but a bit less than the black just because they`re more pickled in flavor. I don`t often keep those around because I am the only one who will eat them.

Either way, olives are a good little snack to keep around and definitely better for you than grabbing something like a bag of chips or a bowl of ice cream!
