It`s almost that time of year again! It`s almost swimsuit season and if your like me, your trying to find new ways to quickly get in shape and eat healthy. Recently, I`ve been trying out some new homemade smoothie recipes and after a few test runs, I`ve finally created the perfect blueberry smoothie.
Serves: 2-4 (depending on size of glass).
Time: 10 minutes
1 1/2 cups of frozen blueberries
1 cup skim milk or 1% milk
2 tbsp. vanilla protein powder (approx. 1 scoop)
3/4 cup of ice
1/2 cup of frozen strawberries
3/4 cup of vanilla non-fat or low-fat yogurt
1/2 of a banana (opitional)
1. Pour milk, protein powder and ice into blender. Pulse for 10 seconds.
2. Add blueberries, frozen strawberries and yogurt. Blend for approximately 1 minute on high or until liquidy.
3. Add banana (opitional) and minx for another 30 seconds on high.
4. Pour into 2 - 4 glasses and serve immediately.
If you have leftovers of smoothies, you can pour them into popsicles molds and store them in the freezer. In a few hours you will have delicious blueberry smoothie popsicles!
