I made the Gryffindor look in mind with a few things in mind. One, I thought, again, that it would be kind of cool to do a house pride sort of look with their evening outfits. Not to mention that the colors red and gold go really, really great together (just ask the Lannister`s ;) God I am a nerd). One of the other things I thought would be good to keep in mind is that a Gryffindor female might like to wear a dress with a shorter skirt length as opposedd to a full-length gown, the better to dance and have fun without worrying about tripping on her skirt or some such.
So that`s why I went with a cute short red dress with a sweetheart neckline by Eileen Kirby. The sweetheart neckline gives it a cute factor while not detracting from the skirt, which I love how it was pinned and sewn up. I gave a nod to Gryffindor`s sigil with the lion ring and necklace, both of which I think add some panache to the outift overall. I also added an embellished pair of red Alexander McQueen heels which are gorgeous. I find that you need to be careful with gold heels upon occasion because gold heels can tend to look tacky for some reason. Unless that`s just me. I put in the hair flower mostly cause I wanted to add a bit of pop into the hair, and to have some more accessories, since the outfit isn`t over-accesorized. I kept the bracelets, at one with the one you see in the pic because I wanted something that stood out on the arms. I also added a brass-knuckle clutch (for easy holding! Lol) by Alexander McQueen as well. I definitely have a thing for McQueen designs, both before and after his untimely passing, R.I.P.
