Harmons Beauty Supply Haul
I was recently in NY/NJ for my cousin`s wedding. I had flown in a few days early so I could help with the wedding preparations.
July was a really exciting month for me since right after the wedding, I was headed to Armenia as a chaperone for the youth group I help mentor.
There was only a few days between my New York trip and my Armenia trip, so I figured that I could get some of the stuff I would need while in NJ/NY.
The hotel I was staying at had a Harmon`s beauty Supply in the same complex. I had never heard of Harmon`s but my cousin suggested it since the prices were better than Walgreens or CVS.
This store was huge, and I was able to pick up a ton of items that I needed.
First thing on my list was Shampoo and Conditioner. I have some huge Tresemme bottles at home but I wanted something smaller and easier to travel with. I ended up picking up the Sauve Almond and Shea Butter to take with me. They also came with a sample of the new Suave Macedamia oil shampoo and conditioner which is nice. Each of these was only $1.99. I also ended up picking up the new Herbal Essence`s Cleansing conditioner for $3.99. Armenia is a very dry country, and it can be very dusty, especially when you go to see the historic sites which is mainly what we did with the kids on the trip. It can also get really hot and sweaty which means showering at least once a day (if not multiples times a day). Since I don`t like to wash my hair everyday, but I would probably need to because of the sweat and dust, I thought it would be a great opportunity to try this product out! I plan to do a review on it to share how well it works.
I also decided to pick up a fresh can of Tresemme hairspray. I go through a lot of hairspray so I figured this large one would be ok for my trip.
I also grabbed a bottle of the Aussie 3 minute miracle deep conditioner -this wasn`t to take on the trip but to give my hair a treat before I left. I have never tried it before, but heard such great things that I couldn`t resist picking it up -I don`t recall the exact price, but I believe it was around 5 or 6 bucks.
Lastly in the hair department, I picked up a pack of claw clips. These large clips are a staple for me since they are the best for holding back my thick, long, curly locks. I figured that they will be especially useful during my trip.
Moving on from hair, I decided to take a look at the HUGE travel size wall of stuff they had. I knew that small bottles of shampoo and hairspray would not be enough, but I knew I could get away with a travel size of body wash. We were mostly staying in a hotel so I knew that I could use their body washes but a few of the days we were out in the villages which is where I would need my own. I picked up a small bottle of St. Ives oatmeal and Shea butter I really liked the scent of this so I may go pick up a full size bottle.
In this travel section, they also had some other discounted items. One of the things I saw was this exfoliating face sponge. I remember a Luuuxer talking about a similar product in a post a little while back, and since she liked it so much, I was curious to try it myself. It was only 99 cents, so I picked it up, and I am excited to use it!
They also had a huge make-up selection at Harmon`s, but I was already planning on visiting the ELF flagship store in NYC so I didn`t want to temp myself too much. I did make a point to pick up the Maybelline DefineABrow eyebrow pencil for my trip. I normally use my Smashbox powder pencil, but I have heard that it doesn`t travel well since it is a powder so I wanted to try this as an alternative for my trip.
Lastly, I picked up a bottle of Out The Door fast dry top coat. I swear by Seche Vite, but I have heard that this is even better since it doesn`t do the weird shrinking thing that Seche Vite does. It also costs less, at under 4 dollars for a bottle. Unfortunately, I have yet to find it in Canada, so I thought this would be a great chance to try it out! I plan on reviewing this as well once I get to use it a few times.
I was happy to get so many items, and for really good prices. Makes me wish we had Harmon`s stores in Canada!
