So yesterday when I was getting ready to go out, I was straightening my hair as normal, right? About halfway through my hair, my straightener starting giving off this HORRIBLE smell. It smelled like melting plastic and rotten fish! I was getting scared that it was going to start sparking or melting or something, but it was working fine minus the smell, so I just hurried up and finished my hair. I brought it downstairs and showed my mom and she was like "I wondered what that smell was!", you could smell it downstairs! Even when I got home that night, you could still smell it! IT WAS AWFUL. I left if on my counter in the kitchen and not my room, that way if it did melt or spark or something, the counter wouldn`t catch on fire. Well today it`s obviously all cooled down, and it smells like chlorine from like a swimming pool. It`s so weird!
I`ve already decided I`m not going to use it anymore because that really shouldn`t be happening! I was wondering, if anyone knows a lot about hot tools, how long are they supposed to last? I bought this when I was about 15, so I`ve had it about 4 years. (For those of you who are wondering, this is the Vidal Sassoon Answers for Coarse hair).
Let me know your thoughts! xox
