I just love dyi recipes, especially for my hair, as it makes me feel like I am in the SPA and I love to treat myself with those.
There is one that I read about in a magazine and it is with avocado. I am a huge fan, not only because it`s yummy, but because it is also very healthy for you.
This avocado hair masks are great for dry hair, but can also be used to keep your hair from becoming dry. Avocado is high in fat and protein, thus making it nourishing while taking care of frizz.
And here is what you will need:
- half of an avocado that has been peeled
- an egg
- two tablespoons of olive oil
Smash all of the ingredients together in a bowl, and then massage the mixture onto your dry hair, working your way from the ends to the roots. Once you`ve covered all of your hair, use a shower cap or plastic bag to cover the strands for 20-30 minutes. Try putting a warm towel around your covered head until the time is up; it will boost the conditioning process.
Next, rinse the mixture completely out of your hair, and then shampoo as normal. Dry hair should get this treatment once a week until back to normal, and normal-to-oily hair that is being treated as a precautionary treatment only needs this process twice a month.
You can add some essential oils as well for further conditioning or just for relaxation.
Tell me if you have any good hair mask recipes of your own, I`d love to try some!
