Recently I got the chance to try the new Secret Sensations from häagen-dazs. The two flavors currently in the range are Crème Brûlée and Chocolat Fondant. I picked up the creme brulee flavor because I am not a fan of chocolate ice cream at all.
The ice cream comes in two 100ml mini tubs that are packaged in another paper box. I paid 3,69 which is kinda expensive but normal for the häagen-dasz ice cream. Every tub also had its own little plastic spoon so you`re ready to explore the delicious ice cream!
But uhh.. wait! It is recommended to allow the ice cream to sit in room temperature for 10 minutes to soften into the optimal texture. Once the ice cream was ready to eat my expectations have gotten so high that it was a bit of a let down. It is a rich and creamy custard ice-cream but the flavor is rather unspectacular. In between you will discover crunch from bits of hard caramel that have a slightly bitter taste to them. It is supposed to be the typical creme brulee taste but I wasn`t a fan of it. While you dig deeper into the cup you will discover a hidden surprise which is a molten caramel sauce that was not overly sweet.
After that the ice cream tub will be empty sooner than you want it to be because 100ml are really just a few spoons full.
Would I repurchase it? No, it is definitely not worth it for this price and there are far better flavors in the häagen-dazs range.
