I`ve tried a lot of foundations over the years from the cheap like miss spotty (um I mean sporty) to Mac,Dior skin etc and as much as I would like to buy the cheap stuff my skin doesn`t like it . Cheap foundations either have a shade that`s passable but then I get a rash or the shade range is pretty crap.I first picked up this foundation when i went in to replace my Diorskin nude foundation and it was out of stock, this is normally only £1.50 more but because of a beauty event i paid less than i had intended to.
Its not a brand that im that familiar with ,other than that they have loads of nice perfumes. It would be described as a premium brand.
This foundation only comes in 6 shades which is quite surprising when you think of brands like mac that have loads. These are
I would say from relatively light to dark. One thing I am the lightest shade in this so its not suitable for people with really light skin.It is light coverage so it could work with loads of blending in.
This looks really expensive and sleek. I would describe the bottle as almost being like the same design as a lighter. It is plastic but i prefer that to glass bottles as it is easier to get the whole product out the bottle. The pump on the bottle made it a little difficult to dispense at first but I got used to it.
**What I want from a foundation**
My skin is light but not porcelain color ,those that are familiar with mac I am about nc15(most brands i am lightest the lightest to second lightest color)I want something that is light so it doesn`t feel restricting on my face and with spf for summer months.I prefer a matte finish for daytime/everyday looks.
**What It promises**
An airy light fluid foundation with a new radiant mattness that reveals the fine texture & glow of the skin. With purifying Ginger & Cinnamon actions to keeps skin fresh all day long whilst Zinc targets excess sebum only when needed. Eclat Matissime keeps skins natural balance whilst delivering a radiant, glowing complexion. Result: A matte, radiant, natural, unified complexion with a silky matte finish. Build able coverage.
**What It gives**
Now my skin is dry so the first thing I do before applying any makeup is put on a face cream and leave it to soak in for 5 minutes as I do not want the products to mix. I then use a foundation brush designed for liquid foundation as i do not want to loose any product with it sticking to the brush(also this helps prevent brush lines). One thing i love about this Is that it is a great foundation for light coverage or it can be built up If needed. Most importantly It looks natural as there is nothing worse than the oompa loompa look. My skin does have a slight glow y look but its not shiny.
With foundation I only apply It once a day .In the summer months I might reapply in the evening if I am going out but apart from that it lasts the day. This product is slightly scented but it is not strong and you cant smell it once applied.
**Price and where to get**
This currently costs £33.50 from Debenhams and you get 99 loyalty points on your beauty card (99 pence). Anywhere that stocks Givenchy products should sell it.
I have purchased this twice, both times from Debenhams when they have the 10% off beauty offer on. Its expensive (however not the most expensive foundation i have ever bought) but i think its a great foundation and for how long it lasts worth the money. I use foundation most days and a bottle lasts about 6 months.
Anything else just ask:P
