For Christmas we had a small gingerbread house as a centerpiece of our dissert table. I bought a prepackaged gingerbread house from ikea and my sister assembled it. It included all the parts of the house and you just had to put it together. Usually for gingerbread houses you use royal icing to stick all the parts together and I actually did have royal icing that I also used for gingerbread men cookies that I made but the royal icing just wasnt working when it came to gluing all the parts together. But Ikea had some directions on how to glue everything together by using melted sugar and thats what we ended dup doing because it was much more effective. We did however end up using some royal icing to decorate it like on the roof and to stick some m&ms on top. It didnt end up being as elaborate as we wanted because we were all busy that day doing other things for a party but this is how it turned out and it looked cute on our dessert table. Did you make a gingerbread house this holiday season? __________________________________________________________________________
