I brought a box of Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownie Mix last week and decided to test out their brownie mix because I have heard fantastic reviews on this. I got my box at stop and shop.
What I first noticed was that these brownies were twice the price of the other brownie mixes. (2.50 for a box compared to 1.25!) However, the design of the was much prettier and almost fancy looking. I brought two boxes (one for later) and got to baking them immediately as I got home.
The instructions on the box told me to add 1/4 cup water, 1/3 cup oil and 1 large egg. I noticed quickly that the mix for this brownie included EXTRA chocolate chips!! lol. After mixing everything in, I put it in the oven at 325 degrees for only 33 min ( i like my brownies "undercooked") When I told them out, they smelled fantastic! They smelled slightly better than the pilsberry brownie mix. They even tasted better. What made these brownies so good I think was the extra chocolate chips (of course!) and they were soft. Unlike other brands, for some reason, this one tasted like it was home made. I don`t know why exactly. It was a bit sweeter in a good way and the brownies were moist and rich. They were so good!
Valentine`s day is coming up soon and I will be buying this mix again to use. It is worth the price!
Have you guys every used this mix?
Did you like it?
What brownie mix do you use? Or do you make them from scratch?
Edit- I don`t have any pics. of my brownies sadly, but I will remember to take some when I make them again and share them with you guys!
