Hi Beauty Luuuxers. I wanted to give you dark haired folks a tip. I have dark brown hair and have it done at a salon about every 2 months to make it a honey blonde shade. If you are wanting to go lighter with highlights, such as caramel or dark blonde, the more natural non-streaky look is the way to go (unless you want an edgy look). To make sure I get a nice natural looking highlight, I tell my hairdresser to put lots of highlights in, some lowlights and put them close together so it looks natural. Then she will do a toner at the end and this "bumps the base" as she says so that any dark hair that is showing will lighten up a tad and blend everything together. Yes, when your roots grow in, they will be more obvious because you don`t have those dark pieces for it to blend in with. But, if you are going for a non-obvious "I`m naturally this color" look, then frequent trips to the hair salon are what it takes!
