one of the most beautiful buildings i`ve ever visited is the george peabody library in baltimore, maryland. it`s owned by the johns hopkins university and it`s a part of the peabody conservatory. it`s a library that is filled with tons and tons of old books and has some of the most beautiful architecture ever!
the marble floors, quaint halls filled with books and old catalogue card system that is still in use make it super unique. i`ve had a couple of classes in here to explore and study the architecture of the building, but i wish it was closer to campus so that i could study in it on a regular basis. it`s open to students to study as a full-time library, but it`s kind of hard to get to unless you actually study at the conservatory.
in any case, i think this is the number one spot i would recommend to people visiting the baltimore area. it`s a treasure - particularly because it is located next to the walters art museum which has some really famous works of art in it, and city brunch cafe is down the street for some good food! if you`re ever in town, be sure to visit.
