OK so a couple of nights ago I was playing my PS2 when suddenly SNAP SNAP! Something all video gamers hate to hear from their controllers, 2 buttons breaking at the same time. Both my L1 and L2 buttons broke at the same time. Last month the R1 and R2 buttons both broke on it. I managed to open up my controller and fix them, but when I opened it back up try and fix the L buttons, what I found was a worse break. The actual pad that registers the buttons being pressed had broken and there was nothing I could do but go out and buy a new controller. Unfortunately since the PS2 is getting up on years they no longer make the original big tough controllers for it. The only controllers available for sale today at any retailer are the GameStop brand PS2 Controllers. The controller that broke on me was also a GameStop brand controller that I had bought 2 1/2 years ago. It cost me $12 (American) last time, but this time they were $10. The controller itself is a decent controller, having all the features and buttons that came on the original controllers but being 10% smaller and a slightly different style for comfort. The down side is you can really feel the lack of quality of the controller and for $10 you get what you pay for. It`s cheaply made and will most likely break within 2-3 years with normal use. Truthfully I don`t like using them due due their cheapness, but today there`s really not much of a choice in controllers for the PS2 anymore. And I didn`t want to wait 2-3 weeks for one I could have bought online to arrive in the mail.
All in all it`s an ok controller. But I don`t really recommend them. But they`re better than nothing at least.
