Adriano Galliani disembarked at the port of Barcelona, and went on to make it quite clear that he is not thinking of making it easy for Thiago Silva, on the shopping lists of both Barcelona and Paris Saint German, to leave his club.
AC Milan`s administrative director made it crystal clear in his comments to Com Radio: "Thiago Silva is not up for sale, and will stay at Milan next season for certain".
Galliani arrived in Barcelona accompanied by Massimiliano Allegri and Franco Baresi aboard the `Di Splendida`, a cruise ship on which were also travelling 4,000 Reds supporters. On arrival, the director did not have much to say, restricting himself to stating that he was on holiday. "It is Sunday, a non-working day, and I have no plans to meet up with the Barcelona people", he said.
Thiago Silva`s contract with AC Milan runs until 30th June 2016, and the club, even though Galliani insists he is not for sale, has valued him at 50 million euros, a figure which Barcelona is not prepared to meet, and which PSG considers prohibitive.
Following the meeting of the Barça sporting management team on Friday at Sant Joan Despí, it is clear that the club cannot go in for any disproportionate operations. So, Thiago Silva is the midfielder Barcelona likes best, but unfortunately there is no way the club can match the 50 millions AC Milan is asking.
