Fruits for Snack

It`s Fall and the weather in Toronto has been acting up. Sometimes, you`ll get 20 degrees celcius weather in the afternoon, but it turns to 10 degrees celcius at night. This is terrible for the human body as it does mess up the immune system.

A lot of my coworkers and friends have been falling sick because of this and I don`t like being sick so I`ve been on a health kick lately trying to load up on Vitamins to avoid being sick and if I do get sick, it`ll help me fight it off quicker.

So this week, my fruit of choice is strawberries and oranges. This is probably the last week we get very delicious and ripe strawberries that are sweet. Strawberry season is already over so its best to eat strawberries now and we`ll see some nice ones again in Spring.

The strawberries I got were very ripe so I had to be careful. The transition time between ripe and rotting is very short, usually about a day or two. So I washed them with salt water. Yes, if you rub some salt on berries and then rinse them out with cold water, they taste sweeter =) And I cut them into halves. Then I chopped up the oranges and cut them into 8ths. So I end up with a nice colorful jeweled plate of fruit.
