how I wish I could say "I have found my HG foundation" but nope, hasn`t happened and not for lack of trying let me tell you. I have a couple of powder foundation I keep around, the Lorac I actually keep in my "just in case" make up bag, the Benefit one I haven`t used in who knows how long and the Bare Minerals Matte is the one I use the most but it`s not HG by any means. I used to think I was a powder kind of girl until I ventured into liquids, a short list of what I`ve tried ...
Laura Mercier, Revlon, Neutrogena, Benefit, Smashbox, Tarte, Clinique, Mac, Sheer Cover ....these however are the ones that seem to be working for me at the moment.
Chanel Mat Lumiere in the shade 30 Cendre (1.5), I picked this one up not too long ago and have used it like twice I think, I`m still working on finding the best application method for me. it`s a really nice foundation don`t get me wrong, but I can`t say I`m 100% in love with it - yet. Bourjois Healthy Mix in 52 Vanilla is a very VERY hard foundation to find in the US. I was very excited to get it and you know, it`s not bad, it has been said that since it`s made by Chanel the formulas are very similar, I`ll let you know about that soon. Nars Sheer Glow - I think this is as close as I have gotten to HG. the color match is spot on, it`s got such a nice application and it wears beautifully, only problem I have with it is I look beyond dewey because I have oily skin. I know there`s a sheer matte formula which I will try after I finish this bottle and I will be getting a bottle of UD de-slick to see if it helps. I have been told that my skin looks great when I wear it and that you can`t even tell I have foundation on so yeah, it`s pretty up there. MUFE HD in 123 Dessert is one of the best color matches ever, I love the way it photographs, I love the way it applies but I have the same issue as I do with Nars, oil slick. so the reasonable thing to do was to try MUFE Matte Velvet+ right? I got it in the shade 40 Natural Beige, yet another great color match, great finish, wears off incredibly well but I look like I have foundation on it and it totally accentuates my peach fuzz.
I do have two BB Creams I decided to include, the Boscia and the Garnier. I got the Boscia in a sample bag and it sucks because it only comes in one shade but I like that it`s oil free, it`s way thicker than anything else I`ve got on my arm and much darker so hopefully it`ll work for summer. the Garnier is my go to during the week when I don`t want to wear foundation, has nice coverage but you know, still pretty oil slick looking, still, I like wearing it LOL
anyways, you can see the difference in shades when I swatch them yet they all work, hmmmm. I do have very yellow undertones so it`s very hard to find the right shades and I`m super picky about the way they feel, I thought Neutrogena and Revlon felt disgustingly heavy on my skin, like masks so yeah, I like lighter foundations. will I ever find my HG ??? *sigh* I hope so !
