i was putting on my red lipstick today and i just totally sucked at putting it on. i was planning on wearing it as a bit of a stain today rather than full on swiping it on so i didn`t wear a lip balm under because the color better adheres and stains my lips if i don`t use a lip balm. i was using MAC russian red, which is a matte, and it`s not the creamiest lipstick to put on. it wasn`t giving me an easy time, so i had to go in with some red lip liner around the edges to make sure they were smooth.
i ended up lining my lips a little out of the lines, if that makes sense. i basically made my lips look a little fuller. i only did this on my bottom lip, not my upper lip - doing that on the upper lip looks a lot more fake whereas i feel like doing that on the bottom makes your lips look poutier and fuller.
i blotted off the excess and voila! i think this was the most perfect red lips i`ve worn in a really long time!
oh, and the special occasion was picking up my dad from the airport. he finally came home today! woohoo!!
- wet n wild the gilded age trio, lid & crease color used as directed, crease color smudged along lower lash line
- thick winged liner with maybelline eyestudio gel liner in black
- covergirl lashblast fusion mascara
- jordana automatic lip liner. not sure what the color is... it`s the red one that twists up!
- MAC russian red
not wearing any other makeup even though i really needed to. i`ve lately been getting these annoying zits in the most random places but it`s just too hot outside for me to put much else on my face right now.
have you ever used lipstick/lip liner to line outside your lips to make them look fuller?
