I told myself I didn`t need to watch it. I didn`t need another dramatic/thriller tv show in my life. I had the good ones-- Sherlock, Twin Peaks, X-Files, Supernatural. I had the disappointing-- The Killing. (Seriously, ugh, and I watched BOTH seasons).
I didn`t have room for this in my life. Or that`s what I told myself. But I was browsing through the channels and FX was showing a mini-mini marathon of the first three episodes of The Following.
Somehow, I was hooked.
In it, Kevin Bacon (Kevin Bacon`s name is funny because he looks like a skinny pig) is a world-wearied retired cop who has to chase down the serial killer he thought he`d caught after said serial killer breaks out of prison.
The serial killer`s murders are based around Edgar Allen Poe`s work. I have this weird feeling that the finale will involve The Pit and the Pendulum. But anywho-- I actually have the anthology Kevin Bacon`s character uses to refer to Poe`s writing! It`s pretty gawffic, but good for a Poe fan. (That`s my picture).
The Following is kind of disappointing, but not as disappointing as The Killing, and I`m going to stay with it till the end.
