Easter was weeks ago but we still get some of the traditional cakes around here, especially from people that make them at home and sell them around town.
This is a traditional Portuguese easter cake that we call "folar".
My mom bough this today from a local woman that passes by her work a lot and today she told that she sells these home made cakes and so she went home and did some and took them to my moms workplace where she bought this one.
This whole cake was 3 (close to 4$), which is a very good price and its so good, much better than the ones in bakeries around here and with a better price. Because it was made in the afternoon, it was still very soft and crunchy on the more burnt parts, its so good. In case you are wondering, the taste is hard to describe but it has a strong lemon taste.
What do you think?
Do you also buy from local people that make cakes at home?
