Hello everyone :)
I went to Florence, Italy on a Art trip with my school in April 2012. We flew into Venice, stayed in Florence everynight and visited Pisa and Milan. It was a fantastic trip culturally and particularly helpful for my Art history subject in school.
Florence is a city of artists, not only the renowned Renaissance ones, but the hundreds of street artists that are everywhere you turn, ready to draw you as a cartoon, black and white or colour. They offer amazing work (there is also a lot of horrendous ones too lol) for five or ten euro. Be sure to bargain hard as they do take advantage of gullible tourists!
My favourite part of Florence is the other side of the river at the Palazzo Pitti (pitti palace) which is a humongous castle used as a museum of every kind of itaian history, from ancient furniture to modern day fashion! Wonderful!
Other great attractions you should visit in the Santa Maria del Fiore dome church in the heart of the city (pics above). The `statue of david` along with other work of Michelangelo in the Bargello museum.
Florence is also a city of beautiful fashion so be sure to check out the cobbled streets containing all the high end labels!
Photos are mine, no one has permission to take or use.
I encourage all aspiring artists or enthusiastic hisotrians to visit the magical city.
Hope you like this post!
