One of my coworkers is Korean and she suggested that we check out a restaurant not too far from where I work. I`ve had Korean food before but it`s been so long that I couldn`t even remember what it tastes like. The only thing that I still remember is Kimchi but only because my mom (who is Russian lol) makes.
There were tons of items to choose from! For appetizers we got Seafood Pancake (forgot to take a picture) which had octopus, shrimp, and other seafood all cooked in one big pancake. And it was DELICIOUS!!! I could have ate the whole thing by myself but I knew I had more food coming.
For my main dish I ordered Beef Hot Pot Bi Bim Bap. Bi Bim Bap is basically a bowl of rice with sautéed veggies, chili pepper paste, and soy sauce. There`s also additions that they can add to it so in my case, I got a raw egg and beef. The dish itself is super hot so you have to be careful when you get it. It`s better to mix everything together because if you wait too long, the rice on the bottom gets dry and crispy.
Also, one of my favorite things about that restaraunt was that they also bring you side dishes that you can snack on and re-order for free if you want more. I don`t remember the names of all 6 side dishes that we got but one of them was a sweet potato which I got really obsessed about lol So overall, this is definitely my new favorite place to go & I can`t wait to try new things!
Have you ever tried Korean food? If so, what`s your favorite dish?
