First Impression: First Time at Shake Shack!

Hello lovely Luuuxers!

A few weeks ago, I went to Shake Shack for my first time! We recently got a Shake Shack store in my city, walking distance from my work, and it was so popular that the lines wound out the door! I knew that I wouldnt be able to get in and out during my lunch break, so I waited patiently until some of the hype died down and then walked over to try it!

I knew that Shake Shack has already been established in other cities, but my city, Chicago, is VERY particular when it comes to things like hot dogs and shakes. We are famous for our hot dogs, and have been since the beginning of time, so when it comes to those things, we are like snobs! I knew that the food would have to be exceptional in order to impress me, especially since we also have a lot of restaurants that serve amazing burgers and shakes. The bar was set high, but I was determined to see for myself if Shake Shack was worth the hype.

I ordered a regular Shake Shack burger, complete with the special sauce, an order of French fries with cheese on the side, and a Black and White milkshake. It was a little bit expensive for what you got, but Im always okay with paying more for good quality food.

Ill start with the burger. The patty was a perfect size in my opinion, not too big but also substantial. It was cooked perfectly and was very tender and flavorful, but not too greasy. The best part of the burger, though, was the special sauce! That really took it to the next level. I was in heaven with this burger and it exceeded all of my expectations.

Another unexpectedly great thing was the cheese I dipped my fries in. It was not like the normal cheese you get with cheese fries. I cant quite put my finger on what was different about it but it was so rich and tasty. I think the difference is that it is made out of REAL cheese so it tasted very fresh!

Finally, my shake. After all, it is called Shake Shack, so I was hoping the shake would be out of this world! And yes, it really was! Creamy and thick, but not too much so, and oh-so-flavorful. I loved the black and white shake, with its combo of vanilla and chocolate. It reminded me of the swirl cones I would get from the soft-serve machine as a kid!

Overall, my experience at Shake Shack was a positive one and I am really looking forward to going back again. Even as a snobby Chicagoan, I was still impressed by the food and thought it was deserving of all of the good attention it had been getting! I just hope that it can eventually become less crowded so I can have an easier time getting a seat, or getting take out!

Have any of you tried or enjoyed Shake Shack? What is your favorite thing to order?
