This film is awesome. It`s a historical drama film that was released in the US in 2008. This film caught me and I find it really really interesting because of its title. I do not have much educational background on World War II but fictional stories with war settings like this fancies me.
"Set during World War II, a story seen through the innocent eyes of Bruno, the eight-year-old son of the commandant at a concentration camp, whose forbidden friendship with a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence has startling and unexpected consequences." -(from http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0914798/)
What caught me is not the issue on brutality on what happened in the Holocaust but on how an 8 year old Bruno, despite their status in the society back then, learns to explore things on his way, full of innocence and child-like simplicity. Because he didn`t know about what the current situation is all about, he tends to see life in a fairest way possible without discrimination. The ending is quite shocking and very tragic on the part of the main characters. This movie is a attempts to look real in a way but just a slice of history. Nothing more, nothing less.
