Yes I know I don`t normally do these posts because I don`t think I wear makeup often enough to warrant such a post, however - this past month was different !!!
My skin is much lighter, therefore some of my foundations are too dark for me, turns out the lightest ones I have are bourjois healthy mix and Nars sheer glow. I was reminded of how much I like the color match in Nars and how light bourjois feels while giving great coverage. Lovely foundations.
I can`t say I`m big on bronzers and didn`t pay too much attention to the too faced chocolate one when I bought it, but one day I saw how beautifully it blended, how natural and non orange it looked. I can`t say I notice the scent too much but it`s quickly become a favorite.
I have never been a fan of concealers, I find them to crease and make my wrinkles even more obvious so I`ve stuck to using the bare minerals well rested. not too long ago I caved and bought the maybelline age rewind one and omg, it`s so good !!! I totally see why people rave about it, never creases, lightweight, smooth, easy to blend, just a great product.
msf natural - a mac powder in my favorites? what? yup, been liking this a lot lately just to dust over my foundation. I find that when I apply this with my bdellium large powder brush (the pink 980) it gives me a very light dusting and doesn`t look cakey at all.
while at Imats, I hit the crown brush booth and picked up this little beauty, it`s the deluxe crease brush (ss012) and omg, I have been in love with it since then. it`s a duo fiber brush, similar in shape to the mac 217 but smaller, extremely soft and omg, perfect for small lid space. can you believe this beauty is only $2.82 on the website ??
as far as lips go, the two I used the most were maybelline blissful berry and mac twig. both in the berry/mauve family, the mac being the matte more every day one. I love the bright yet deep color of the maybelline, it`s got some shine to it and feels great on the lips. twig when tapped lightly can give you a very nice nude look.
my two favorite eye products were the dior diorshow mascara and the mufe aqua eyes in 10. unfortunately, the mascara is all gone but I have a bunch of news ones to try out. the liner stays put so well on my waterlines, it`s smooth and creamy, love it.
now for my fails : tarte multipleye primer and lights camera lashes/splashes. I have samples of the three and I have to say I absolutely hate them. I do not understand the hype these mascaras get at all. I tried the primer with a few different mascara and it made absolutely no difference at all. as far as the mascaras go, I thought the waterproof version of it was horrid because it left my lashes feeling wet, not smudgy though, more like when I touched them even after hours of wear, they`d stick together. the regular version clumped them together too so to me, both bad. sad, considering how much I love tarte products.
anyways, that`s my faves and fails for the month of february. I have a feeling some of these might find their way into the march faves too.
