In the summer, everyone always wants ice cream and barbeque. But its also important to have some nice, fresh fruit! Its healthy for you with lots of vitamins and minerals, but also refreshing. It will also help to keep that hot summer body in shape all summer long!
My favorite summer fruit are some fresh cherries! Just bite em` off the stem and spit out the pit! They have vitamin C and tons of antioxidents that apparently help prevent diseases such as cancer. I also love juicy red apples because they`re sweet but healthy, and you know what they say...an apple a day keeps the doctor away!
If you have a sweet tooth but want to be healthy and make sure you consume your 4-6 servings of fruit a day, here are a couple of ways you can do that!
1. Grab some frozen yogurt! Places like Red Mango offer lots of fresh fruit options to top off your yogurt with...so yummy!
2. Strawberries & cream! Slice up some strawberries and eat them with low-fat cool whip or whipped cream.
3. Make your own ice pops! Take ice pop trays you should be able to find at the supermarket for just a few dollars, and fill them up with your favorite fruit. Pour in some water or all natural 100% fruit juice then let it freeze. Eat it instead of store bought ice pops full of unnecessary calories, syrups, and sugars!
