To celebrate Father`s day, my family went out to eat. We decided to stay close to home and picked Garden Cafe in Arcadia because it was close and we have connections there so no having to wait for a table :]. The places was super packed when we got there so we had to wait a couple of minutes for a table to open up.
I wasn`t really craving anything in particular so I decided on the braised ox tail with a wine sauce. It sounds really fancy, but it`s actually a very common dish in Hong Kong cafes. Instead of pasta, I got rice. The wine sauce tastes amazing with rice! There were a couple of chunks of ox tail and some vegetables mixed in with the wine sauce. It`s definitely not the most appealing dish, but it`s sooooo delicious. The meat was super tender and tasty and the sauce was very rich. It`s a very heavy dish so a little goes a long way. I ended up eating about half of it and giving the rest to my brother.
If you ever get a chance to try this dish, definitely do! Or you can always make it at home, but it`s extremely time consuming. Either way, it`s a delicious dish and very filling. So have any of you ever tried braised ox tail in a wine sauce? What did you do for Father`s day?
