Hello ladies, long time no see. I`m finally back and on a diet. I wanted to share with you an interesting find; a no carb, low calories pasta!
I`m so excited, I`m italian so I can`t live without pasta and I needed to find a good substitution to my beloved. I found it in a particular pasta called Shiritaki; Shiritaki noodles have zero net carbohydrates, no food energy,no gluten, and they are useful to those on low-carbohydrate diets. The Shiritaki noodles are composed of water and of glucomannan that comes from the root of an Asian plant called konjac. They can be found on the market in dry and soft `wet` forms and the consistency is like a jelly spaghetti but they are not so bad. You can cook them whatever you want, I prefer to cook them with tomato sauce with tuna or meat and spices. They are ready in just a few minutes because they cook in the sauce after you take them out of the packaging and rinse them in cold water really well. I posted a photo of an example of Shiritaki noodles I cooked two days ago with tomatoes hot sauce. They have 35 calories per serving...You can`t beat that!
