Here`s some of the books my Mum got me for Christmas. These are the ones that are fashion-related. I love reading these sort of books, and as a fashion student it sometimes helps me when doing my work. Here`s what i got -
Coco Chanel - Justine Picardie - I haven`t read this yet, but i have read a lot of books on Coco Chanel and i find her life and work facinating. I`ve been told that this is the best book about her, so i`m very excited to read it! Here`s a review on another Chanel book i read - http://www.luuux.com/node/3429876?blog_id=87817
True Whit - Whitney Port & Lauren Conrad Style - Quite similar books with different styles. It`s partially about them such as favourite items of clothing, films and music. Whitney`s is more personal, there`s alot more personal photo`s and opinions. Where as the photo`s in Lauren`s are more professional. There are really good styling and fashion tips in both.
Alexander McQueen: A Genius Of A Generation - Kristin Knox - AMAZING BOOK! Alexander McQueen is an amazing designer and this book has some amazing photo`s from the beginning of his career and shows the amazing dresses he`s created.
My Wonderful World Of Fashion - Nina Chakrabarti - It`s quite a cool book, It would be really useful for someone maybe younger than me or starting out in designing. You`re supposed to draw in the book and it`s really quite creative. It tells you to draw yourself, design jewellery/hats/sunglasses, a handbag for your friends.. Quite a fun book and there is a second one too.
