[PHOTOS BELONG TO ME. PLEASE DON`T STEAL]
Yesterday, I went shopping in the city and stopped by 14th Street/Union Square. I don`t go here often for some reason, simply because most of the stores around here you can find anywhere. I really just go here for either shoes or Wholes Food Supermarket. I always pass by the farmers market, but I don`t really get anything, until today. My cousin wanted to try it out because they are natural(no preservatives) and organic?(maybe. idk. lols).
I wasn`t really planning on buying anything, just wanting to look around see what they had. But my cousin gave me some fruits & vegetables to take home and try out, even after I insisted several times not to *sigh* lols. She gave me 4 husks of corn, 2 peaches, and a carton of tiny cherry tomatoes? They`re different than the typical cherry tomatoes. They were much more smaller, yellow/light orange color, and they were each singley wrapped in the dry leaf. And I`m pretty surprised how tasty and sweet they are. The guy who worked there gave us a sample beforehand, which is cool. I wish I can remember the all the prices, but I can`t really. The peaches were $2.50/lb, bak choy was $4/pack, and watermelon was $5 each. Before coming here, I heard that it was sorta expensive here. I think its a bit more expensive than what you pay for at the local supermarket, but the stuff seem pretty fresh to me, so I guess its resonable.
I also bought some really pretty sunflowers, which I`m probably gonna do a separate post in a week or so.
Have you guys ever purchase groceries from the farmers market? Do you think its worth it?
