A teacher in a kindergarten in Ericeira, added the lyrics from the popular children`s song "I threw the stick to the cat" the expression "Go Benfica", which led to the complaint of a parent in the Ministry of Education (ME).
For this parent, quoted by Lusa, it is "a situation of washing and inducing behavior" and the school "should be an area where neither politics nor religion, nor sports choices must be fed."
The father, confessed fan of FC Porto, but "not too fierce", justifies even though this change the lyrics "undermines the fundamental values of the school, ie, respect for difference and individuality, encouraging diversity of tastes and civics".
"Go away damn flea / fries / Go Benfica" is the phrase that shocked Eduardo Mendes. According to this father, the song is repeated several times a day but the teacher does not see harm in it, because the room of 13 children only two are not adept of Benfica.
The school refused to provide information, but according to the complainant the educator has even said that "whoever is bad, change school" and so, after seeing the situation worsened, it says already interfering in relations between students, the father is studying to transfer his daughter to another establishment.
The story was revealed by the Agency Lusa that it had access to the complaint that the parent had in the Ministry of Education.
