Explosion over Bristol Palin`s Defense to her 3 Year old`s Foul Language

Well, just so you all know, several weeks ago this happened but I wanted to post it and get some of your reactions to this latest news. Bristol Palin has been under attack since this aired and ever since people have been bad mouthing her and her parenting skills. I couldn`t share the specific video due to bad language content so if you want to hear for yourself, you will have to visit the source link section below, it will have a video provided. However, I did capture a clip of the little boy which is also from the same link. This is Bristol Palin`s three year old son, Tripp. As some of you may know, Bristol has recently aired her own reality show Bristol Palin: Life`s a Tripp and already there has been an uproar with one particular episode. The episode is of Bristol and her sister Willow with little Tripp throwing a temper tantrum about swimming and when he doesn`t get his way he begins slapping both mom and sister saying he hates them and also screamed what sounded like an anti-gay slur. The controversy is being made over both Bristol and Willow`s reaction to the bad word. They covered their mouths and started giggling in shock that he said the word and tried to say that God was watching and claiming they were going to punish him by putting him in time out. I have to say that by seeing the episode, they didn`t seem quite so convincing. However, people are highly disgusted that Bristol`s and her sister`s reaction weren`t different. Bristol is claiming that her son didn`t actually say the anti-slur but used another choice word that also began with the letter "F". When asked about the episode after it aired she made the following statement:
"As I`ve said before, I sometimes struggle to raise Tripp," "However, he does NOT use slurs. On the most recent episode of Life`s a Tripp, the Huffington Post is reporting that my son said the word `f----t.`
"This is not true," she continued. "Let me be clear. I`m not proud of what he did say. Sadly, he used a different `f word.`" I can tell you by watching the episode that as much as I want to say he didnt it sounds like little Tripp did use the anti-gay slur because his words were clearly GO AWAY YOU ______! The last part wasn`t as clear but sounded like it ended with a T. Now what Bristol is saying is that he used the other "F" word which clearly isn`t any better but she is under attack because people think she shouldn`t have just defended him as not saying the word and making no apologies for what people think him to have said. Again, I do sadly think that he said something he shouldn`t have in either case and a public apology to those who think it either was the gay slur or a wrong choice of other wording...would have made a huge difference towards peoples reactions. A lot seem to be really upset with the giggling of both Mother and Aunt when Tripp was misbehaving. To make the situation worse, a following statement was made by Bristol: "I do oppose gay marriage, as I`ve written about before (and the HuffPo points out). I guess the temptation to label my three year old son is just too great for the lefty papers to resist. However, one of my new Twitter followers made an excellent point. He tweeted that the left tries to hold my three year old son more accountable than their adult spokespeople." The post points out that the Palin family is no stranger to the anti-gay slur, when prior to this episode the family reacted towards some comments about their family. Bristol commented with the following: "Willow and I shouldn`t have reacted to negative comments about our family. We apologize," this was after Willow caught heat for calling a former classmate a "f----t" after he bashed their mom`s show Sarah Palin`s Alaska. Naturally now that the word has came up again, they are facing a really big reaction. The reactions I have read as commentary to the airing of this episode, people are referring to the Palin family as "Trash", and other Alaskan`s are calling them an "Embarrassment to their state." There are many more comments being made, but I am sure you get the point.

In my own Opinion:

I do not defend the comment that Bristol made nor do I think what her son said was right in either case of what ever word he chose to use. However, I think that the judgement was a little harsh on her entire family and Bristol herself. I don`t defend her being a young mom as an excuse to what her child said. I do think that she should have had a different reaction than giggling about it while covering her face. I think that they were shocked at his reaction and word choice and chose a poor way to react to it. I think that there should have been a consequence to his word right then with a little more seriousness to show that what he did was in fact, wrong. I think by them laughing it made little Tripp think he was being cute. & that seems to be the reaction I think most people are having to it. I think a lot of people are angry because of the past wording the family has used and now that the little boy is saying it, it definitely raises attention towards the use of language he is hearing. However, not that its an excuse!...I think that people calling the family trash and other choice words over the internet and wherever else, does not make them sound any different than little Tripp, use of bad language is bad language, if you are going to tell her she is wrong, maybe you should speak words of encouragement of how to correct her child instead of using bad language to re-correct bad language. Calling her names does not help anyone in the situation. It only spreads more hateful words for children to pick up. It really disgusts me at some of the choice words people are using as reaction to the episode, because I think the whole point being made is that it`s no okay to use those type of words. So the response should not be name calling. (-_-) Those are my thoughts on it.

So for those of you interested comment below and let me know what you think:

Do you think its a HIT ( ) or a MISS (_ )?
