For an everyday neutral eye look, these are the shadows that I lean on to give me a nice and neutral look. For school or work, you definitely do not want to go all out with your makeup. Always keep it calm and natural looking. Having too much color can look very inappropriate in the work place and classroom.
These shadows that I use has many shades of browns, pinks, and some purple. These colors are muted and does not stand out to much so if you wanted to apply it with more of a heavy hand, you can still be okay.
Who needs to invest in the expensive Naked palette when you can have a bunch of these affordable shadows right? Haha. Well, I am interested in the Naked palette, but that can definitely wait since I have all of these wonderful eyeshadows to work with. :)
Picture 1 and Picture 2:
Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow & Liner for Smoky Hazel Eyes. You can find this, and similar shimmer palettes, at your local drugstores for around $10.95.
So I obviously have brown eyes, however, anyone with any eye color can work with these types of palettes from Physicians Formula. I do not use the whole palette. I just use the taupe color in the middle of the palette. It is great as an all over lid color or you can you it to define the outer corners of your eyes, or even to define your crease. However you use it, I think this shade is absolutely perfect. The shades are shimmery, not matte, which I really like. The taupe looks awesome shimmery so it makes your eyes sparkle and glisten which looks really nice.
Wet n Wild Trio in Walking on Eggshells. You can find this specific trio at Rite-Aid, CVS, Walgreens, and sometimes Target for only $2.99.
The colors are gorgeous and neutral. You can follow the guide in the back so you can use the specific shades for your brow bone, crease, and eyelid. I do like to use all three as directed, but my favorite is the shade in the middle. It is a nice medium tone brown with very light shimmers. I find it looks nice alone and blended out at the edges with a good fluffy brush. It is a great trio that you can carry around for touch-ups as well as makes applying your eyeshadows really fast and easy.
Wet n Wild Palette in Greed. You can find this specific trio at Rite-Aid, CVS, Walgreens, and sometimes Target for only $4.99.
This is a nice palette for a day to night look in my opinion. All the shadows on the left side are matte and all the ones on the right are shimmery. They are supposed to be the same shades, just a matter version and a shimmery version. For a day look I would use the first shade on the left as a base and highlight and then use the matte and shimmery pink on my lid. It is nice and feminine and great for school and work.
For a night look, I would keep the day look but then use the dark matte and shimmery black to deepen the crease and outer corners of my eye. This is also great to carry around in your bag to transition yourself to go out after school and work.
Wet n Wild Palette in Vanity. You can find this specific trio at Rite-Aid, CVS, Walgreens, and sometimes Target for only $4.99.
This is my favorite palette of all time. It is filled with nice browns, both matte and shimmery. If you cannot invest in the Naked palette because it is so pricey, this is a great alternative. It is affordable and the browns can look good on all skin tones.
Almay Pure Blends Single Eyeshadow in Oatmeal.
This is a nice light taupe color. It has light shimmer that looks great and brightens your eyes. I like to use this all over my lid and in the corners of my eyes to bring it out by brightening it. This is especially good to wear in the morning to wake those tired and sleepy eyes up.
N.Y.C Color Wheel Mosaic Eye Powder in Brown Eyed Girl +N.Y.C Color Wheel Mosaic Eye Powder in Brown Sugar.
These two color wheel are perfect browns. You can take your brush and swirl in around and picked up all the colors, however, I like to pat the brush down on each single shade of the color wheel. It has a combination of matte and shimmer colors so you have a nice option of picking what you like. I love how the shimmers are not overly shimmery so there is no fall outs which is a plus.
Maybelline Eyeshadow Duo in Brownstone.
This duo contains two beautiful browns. One if medium toned and is matte while the other is a darker brown and is a tad shimmery. This one duo is perfect for an everyday eye look itself. You can use the lighter brown as an all over lid over and every highlight. Then use the dark brown to define your crease and outer corners.
Maybelline 24 hr Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze and Bold Gold. You can find these at your local drugstores for about $6.99.
Bad to the Bronze and Bold Gold are my two favorites out of their whole collection. I like to use these by themselves all over my lid. However, you can also use this as a base and place an all over shadow on top. They are long lasting but I am not sure about 24 hrs because no one should wear makeup for that long anyways.
E.L.F Studio Single Eyeshadows. You can find these at Target or on eyeslipsface website for $3.00 each.
- Wild Wheat
It is a nice golden brown with gold flecks of shimmer.
Dark medium toned brown with tiny shimmers
Bronzed brown with tiny gold shimmers.
- Coffee Bean
Dark brown with gold shimmers.
These single shadows are perfect by perfect or as a lid cover and a crease color. They can be combined and make a great affordable everyday eye look which is what I go for. :)
Hope you like these shadows as well and check them out.
