A few months ago, I was on Facebook with one of my friends, when she sent me this link of a song she heard while she was shopping and PC World. This may sound weird, but she loved it so much, she was dancing around the shop! I really enjoyed the song, so I decided to take a look at more songs like this. Within a few minutes, I discovered my now- favourite music genre, reggaeton, and my favourite artist Daddy Yankee.
I can`t really explain how amazing reggaeton sounds, but I`ll try and sum it up for you:
It all started a few decades ago in Puerto Rico. Daddy Yankee is probably one of the biggest Reggaeton stars ever- he basically established Reggaeton. Wisin y Yandel, Tito El Bambino, Don Omar and Trebol Clan are also very famous. Luny Tunes and Noriega are behind the powerful beats that make up the genre. Reggaeton is basically a mix of rap, traditional Latin sounds, and most importantly, the dembow beat, which is needed for this music.
I really want people to listen to it, so if you like Pop, RnB, Rap or Latino music, you should defiantly check it out. If you are studying the Spanish language, this music could potentially help you with pronunciation and getting used to the language; it has helped me :D
Here are some links of my favourite Reggaeton songs. Enjoy and tell me what you think :D
