I was at Holt Renfrew after work today and I walked by the Estee Lauder aisle and noticed this new product.
It`s supposed to be a compact powder with a specific zodiac design. They`re using the astrological zodiac as opposed to the Chinese one.
Rather than for personal use, this compact is made for gift-giving as the entire thing is plastered in gold colored metal. It is finished off with the gemstone for the month.
At first, I was thinking, if this was a gift, how would you know their skin shade?! Then I realized all of them came in one color, which was translucent brightening powder. As there was only one shade, it limits the gift receiver to be within a certain range of skin colors in order for it to work. And what if they don`t like the product, what will they do with this? They can`t give it to someone else unless they share the same zodiac sign.
Overall, at $70 a compact, this seems more like a novelty luxury item that flaunts how much you can spend on a person rather than being truly useful.
What do you guys think?
