i`ve lusted after mac`s indianwood paint pot for quite a while and i`m always on the hunt for something similar. when i was at CCO recently, i got the estee lauder doublewear shadowcreme in cafe au lait. originally, i was conflicted between getting cafe au lait and a more golden yellow color (i forgot the name, sorry!), but i ended up getting cafe au lait because i liked the bronze look a lot more. the gold one ended up looking a little too yellow for my taste!
the texture of this cream shadow is similar to that of the mac paint pot but it isn`t the exact same. i feel like it isn`t as creamy as my soft ochre paint pot. it`s quite pigmented and applies well though. i guess maybe i`m just not used to having an actual colored cream shadow as opposed to soft ochre, which is skin tone and doesn`t require too much blending.
i`ve used this on its own and it`s held up pretty well. i went running with it on and it looked like new afterwards. it`s really simple to swipe on with a finger and blend with a clean finger for a quick put-together look in the mornings before classes. i like how illuminating it is and it just draws a lot of light to the eyes. i`ve also used it as a base with no problems. it really intensifies bronze eyeshadows!
i got this for $12.25, and it contains the same amount of product as a mac paint pot. (after all, mac and EL are from the same company.) i don`t think these are sold at EL counters anymore and you have to get them from a CCO. i`d love to go back and try some other colors because for the price, i think they`re quite fantastic! this will last me FOREVER!
