Essence Vintage District Clearance Haul

Essence clearance haul

Shoppers Drug Mart is one of my favourite places to go - since I have 2 locations really close to my house, and they are usually on my way from work, I like to drop in on occasion and check out their clearance sections and look to see if any of my favourite stock up items are even on sale.

This time, I headed to the clearance section and found a bunch of Essence cosmetics on sale. I believe these are from their spring(?) line, called Vintage District. They had all the items from the collection available, including the eyeshadows and nail art stickers, but I opted for the blush, the gel eyeliner and one of the nail polishes. These items were normally 3-4 dollars but each was on sale for a buck a piece.

I almost skipped on the blush since it looked like there was a lot of shimmer, and I prefer my skin to have a matte look. But I did notice that the shimmer didnt run all the way through, but rather was just printed on top. I already took a tissue over to top of the flower design and was able to remove most of the shimmer I already like it much better! The blush is a shade called Its Popul-Art.

Both the nail polish and the gel eyeliner are in a blue shade called Shopping Portobello Road. The nail polish also has 2 more shades an orange and a soft pink, but the shades were much more muted and not something I would wear. They reminded me of grandma colour they were dark pastels and not my style at all! The gel eyeliner only comes in the blue, and I decided to pick it up just to try it. Ive already worn it a few times, and its a great way to brighten eyes on a summer day. Its a lazy but still fun make-up look for me blue winged liner and Im out the door! :)

Essense cosmetics are usually very inexpensive, and on clearance they were a bargain I couldnt pass up!

Do you have any Essence items you have tried? What do you think of the items I got?
