Maybe I`m late to jump on the bandwagon, but I`ve been seeing these cute little lip balms in my local drugs stores recently. Of course, the marketing was genius. Package lip balm into small little balls in different pastel colours? It was bound to attract all teenage girls.
I did some research - the website said the balm was natural and bound to produce smooth lips (hence its name Evolution of Smooth) so I decided to give it a try. I`ve used many different lip balm brands in the past, Nivea, Burt`s Bees, Body Shop, but many didn`t seem to work for me.
My eyes bulged a little at the $4.99 price tag (at least here in Canada). $5 for a little lip balm?
However, I don`t regret it one bit. My lips feel smooth ALL THE TIME (with application about 4-5 times a day) and it tastes/smells great! I know some lip balms smell really good but taste like wax when you lick your lips.
So far I`ve tried Sweet Mint (very left in the picture) just because I love the colour mint green. It feels very refreshing in the morning, but with too much application feels like you just visited the dentist. I`ve also tried Honeysuckle Honeydew (light green in the middle), which is my favourite lip balm thus far. It tastes sweet, smells just like the fruit and lasts forever. I`m looking forward to trying Summer Fruit (red one second from the right), which sounds yummy too!
So in the end, 5 bucks is a small price to pay for smooth, hydrated lips. Plus you can find these in any local drug store. In Vancouver, you can get them at London Drugs, Shoppers Drug Mart.
