Starting back up my tour of must visit beaches of North Carolina we come to Emerald Isle. Located in Carteret County, Emerald Isle is actually one of the few beaches on the North Carolina coast where driving on the beach is permitted, but only during September through April. This Beach is located only a few miles from Atlantic beach and is a part of the Crystal Coast. The beaches here are open year round and like Atlantic beach, has some of the best beaches in the entire state coast. There are several campgrounds in the area along with several picnic areas. Snorkeling and scuba diving are permitted also along with scuba classes if you wish to learn. The beach is very family oriented with several tennis courts, gold courses, chartered boat trips for either relaxation or fishing and several nature tours that teach about the local wildlife and plant life. There are several hotels and many rental properties that can be used year round. The fishing in the area is one of the best and the surfing, like at Atlantic Beach, has some of the best weaves on the North Carolina Coast. The Beaches are a beautiful sight and are considered one of the top 10 best beaches in the state. So if you`re look for a great beach vacation with plenty of options, then the Emerald Isle is the perfect place to come.
