ELF Studio Cream Eyeshadow

Keeping reading to find out how I really feel about this product! =/ I recently picked up 4 of these cream eyeshadows from eyeslipsface.
If you are not familiar with this brand, they are a really dirt cheap brand that have really good quality makeup. They specialize in duping products from other companies. Their products are sold in big chains like target, walmart, kmart and dollar tree. They have everything from foundations to makeup brushes and you can also purchase their products from their site. The have really good shipping and they always have sales so you can get their already cheap products for cheaper. If you are a beginning make up artist, they also have kits available to suit a variety of needs and skin tones. If you are new to make up you can try a variety of products without getting lost in the gimmicks of other more expensive brands.
On to the Product at hand:
I purchased the cream eyeshadows from dollar tree at one dollar apiece. It was a great bargain considering they cost $3 on the elf site plus the cost of shipping.
I got Pewter,Candlelight,Dawn, and Bronzed.
I bought the pewter first to test it out. I put a swatch on my hand and wore it for a day. I washed and rubbed my hands as a normally would throughout the day and it didn`t come off. It faded just a little but mostly remained pretty true to color. I could tell that it lost its luster and metallic finish by the end of the day but that could be fixed when topped with a powder eyeshadow of a similar color. I returned to the dollar tree to get three more and swatched and tested those also and I have to say, the lighter the color, the shorter the wear. The lighter colors weren`t as pigmented or as long lasting as the pewter shade. I have to admit I was a little disappointed but I don`t feel as bad as I would have been if I had spent 7 or 8 bucks on a maybelline colour tattoo. I will do a comparison post soon. I`m sure elf is trying to compete with them and MAC paint pots but they have a long way to go if you ask me.

Bottomline: They are only worth a dollar, The packaging is bulky so that sucks, and the lighter colors do not last and will surely crease if you have oily lids, primer or not!

I hope you enjoyed this mini review and rant. Until next time...Make it Jazzy!
