ELF HD Powder vs Make Up For Ever HD Powder

This is a review/comparison of the ELF HD Powder and the Make Up For Ever (MUFE) HD Powder.

ELF HD Powder
Retail price: $6
Weight: 3.5 oz
Ingredients: Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica
Description: The high definition loose powder creates a "soft focus" effect to the skin. Masks fine lines and imperfections for a radiant complexion. The incredibly soft and invisible powder is great for on-screen and everyday wear.

My thoughts: I like the feel of this on my skin; it`s silky and smooth. The packaging is a little bulky, but I can deal with it. I like that it comes with a puff to prevent the product from coming out when I don`t want it to. I also like that I can shake the product on the puff and use a brush to take the product from there and dust it on my face. This mattifies my face and makes my pores look smaller, which is a plus because I have large pores. I wouldn`t put this on with a puff because it can pack on too much product and may leave a white cast. So, a brush is a way to go with this.
Overall: 5/5
Would I repurchase?: Yes, I have. I swapped for a backup and put it all in one container. So, yes, I would repurchase if I get through the amount I have.
Where I purchased: I got this when ELF was doing a sale. Even though their stuff is inexpensive, it`s still nice to get their stuff on sale.

Make Up For Ever HD Powder
Retail price: $30
Weight: .35 oz / 10 g
Ingredients: Cannot find it on Sephora`s site, but it says it`s 100% silica
Description: A universal translucent finishing powder to be applied over foundation or worn alone.
Where to buy: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml;jsessionid=M30BRLUNDDBFSCV0KRRQ5UQ?id=P210400&categoryId=C13402
My thoughts: Very silky feeling and smooth and lightweight on the skin. I like the packaging; small and compact, but I don`t like that there is not way to cover the holes to prevent the product from coming out of the holes when traveling or storing it. But, what I`ve done is take a clean round sponge and cut it to fit the top. That way there is not product coming out unless I want it to. I have to shake some product in the cap and swirl and tap my brush in it. When I do that, I can see clouds of product flying out. This one also mattifies my skin and makes my pores look smaller.
Overall: 4/5
Would I repurchase: Probably not. This is very expensive for what it really is: silica powder. You can get the ELF or I hear Coastal Scents` Silica Spheres are a cheaper alternative. And, with having this and the ELF, I`m pretty much set on HD powder.
Where I purchased: http://Sephora.com. I got this in a set with a travel size HD Primer in white and a full size Smoky Lash mascara for about $49 (I think.. It`s not on Sephora`s site anymore), so it was worth getting.

Comparison/contrast of the two: The ELF powder feels like there`s more weight to it and feel like I`m putting something on my face, whereas the MUFE powder feels like nothing. For some people they may like the MUFE more, but for me I like the ELF one because I feel like I can put too much on with the MUFE.

It`s definitely better to go with the ELF one because it`s cheaper and does its job.

Hope this helps you guys out in figuring out which one to get! (:

If you have an HD powder, which one do you have? and, what do you like about it?
