Because of some of my health concerns and medications I am taking, I have recently stopped eating eggs and have replaced them with egg beaters. The difference in cholesterol and calorie counts are ridiculous! All around I am better off eating the egg beaters.
Now, I had heard about Egg Beaters and seen them in the grocery but I was certain they`d be disgusting. Boy was I wrong. I don`t taste any differences at all and I can prepare them the same as I would a whole egg (except, perhaps, a fried egg).
One of the things I like to eat for breakfast are omelettes. This is my omelette made with Egg Beaters. I poured the equivalence of two eggs worth into a hot skillet and let that set up. Before it was completely set up I sprinkled on some salt, pepper, garlic powder, and parsley flakes. Then, I flipped it to cook on the second side. While the 2nd side was cooking I sprinkled in some ham slices and some American cheese to 1/2 of the omelette. I folded over the Egg Beaters to cover the fillings and voila... it was done. I did top it with a bit of medium picante sauce, too.
It really tastes no different than a 2 egg omelette but is much less in cholesterol and calories. That is an absolute win-win for me!
