El Diablo Restaurant on Spanish Island Lanzarote is very unique in that chefs have access to a volcano of their own. Their traditional Canarian food is cooked over an active volcano! Of course it isn`t spewing lava. That would be cause for a lot of concerns of potential health hazards, but they just use the heat from the active volcano.
A giant grill is built over the volcano and it is used to prepare various dishes of fish and meat that is served in the restaurant. But food isn`t the only attraction here. Many people actually make a trip our to the restaurant for the stunning view of the island.
There is also a Volcano Area Tour that operates every Tuesday from the hours of 6:00 to 9:30 pm. It costs only 50 Euros and that price includes seeing the surroundings, a three-course meal, and transportation to and from your hotel.
This is most definitely a one-of-a-kind restaurant and I think it`s well worth it to experience it just once in your life. I hope I will have the money and time to visit one day. I mean, there`s no point to earning money working all the time if you don`t get to enjoy it, right? That`s my philosophy anyway. I hope the food tastes delicious though and that the volcanic heat doesn`t char the meat or make it too smokey. That would ruin the experience lol.
