Easter: Half Moon Manicure

If you follow me on Instagram (@marleeeney) than you most likely have seen this manicure already.

On Saturday, the day before Easter, I decided to paint my nails. I knew I wanted to wear pastels but I didn`t know what color. I had a hard time choosing between pinks, blues, and purples. In the end I chose to wear both blue and purple. Initially I was gonna just do the usual main color with an accent nail but then remember that I purchased reinforcement stickers to try half-moon manicures. Half moon manicures are a big nail trend this year and I love it because I always have a hard time figuring out what colors I want to wear. LOL

Half Moon Manicure steps
Step 1: Apply a base coat; I used Barielle Professional Advanced Nail Fortifier with Argan Oil Pro.
Step 2: Apply 1-2 coats of the half moon color and wait for it to completely dry; I used Essie Borrowed and Blue.
Step 3: Apply the REIS (reinforcement sticker) to the base of the nail; Tip ~ Cut the REIS in half so that you`re not wasting it and stick the REIS on your skin before you apply on the nail to loosen the glue so that it doesn`t pick up the polish.
Step 4: Apply 1-2 coats of the bottom half of the moon and wait to dry; I used Essie Nice is Nice.
Step 5: Apply Top Coat to seal and shine the manicure; I used Julep Fast Dry Top Coat.

Do you like the half-moon manicure trend? What is your favorite nail trend of 2012? Do you have any of these polishes I use?
>> This was actually the second time I did the half-moon manicure. I decided to post this first because Easter recently passed and it would be weird to post this up after all the other manicures I`ve done and have neglected to post. XD

Hope you enjoy my post. Don`t forget to comment, rate, follow, and friend.
