DUPES: Smashbox v.s. ELF

While getting into makeup I have never really been too much of an eye shadow girl, I have always been way more into face products. So I realized after looking through my sad eye shadow collection of a few pallets, trio`s and individual`s it was time to re-stock. Neutral colors are definitely a must during this season with all the dramatic lip looks that are in. So I was looking through the Sephora website and saw a gift palette from Smashbox the Full Exposure Palette, it has just your basic colors for a ton of different looks, matte`s, shimmers, translucence and more! However the price wasn`t something I was too happy about, especially during the holidays when I should really be spending my money on others. I knew if I couldn`t have it I had to have something like it, so I went scavenging through my favorite brands Bh Cosmetics, Nars, NYX and good ol` faithful ELF didn`t disappoint.

I just got in the mail, The ELF dupe to The Full Exposure Palette, which is The Professional Studio Endless Eyes Pro Mini Eyeshdow palette in Natural.. And boy is that a mouthful. Both Palette`s have your neutral colors, creams, beige`s, medium to dark brown and a deep black, they also each have shimmer versions of the basic colors. I do like reading reviews over products before purchasing them, especially ones as pricey as the Smashbox palette, and let me tell you there was a lot of negative feedback on that palette.
lplovesmakeup said : `I have used smashbox before and loved the formula. This palette does not meet the SB quality. Terrible pigmentation and way to much flaky glitter. I would say pass on this one.` Other costumers said it was an average product, or that the shimmers were disappointing. There were some good things said about it also! it was rated a 3.8 out of 5 by costumers. Now I was really hoping the reviews for the ELF palette were better and they were.
One customer said :The Natural Palette is great palette to create those natural looks that you can wear to the office. It even has great colors that you can build on to go from the office to out on the town by building up that smoky eye effect. If you are new to eyeshadows, this is the palette you should start with! Great value, excellent quality!+ Pros: Good Colors,Smooth Look,Good Pigmentation,Long Lasting,Blends Well,Good Variety of Colors,Easy To Apply,Easy Removal Yes, I recommend this product. There were not too many negative things to say about this product and it was rated a 4.2 out of 5 by customers. Okay so my feelings for the most part are neutral just like both palettes because both palette`s have good pigmentation, But the ELF palette does offer more, it has 32 shadows and the one from Smashbox only has 14, which is a big difference. Elf also offers this palette in two other versions if your not a neutral type girl and the Smashbox palette does come with a eyeshadow brush and mini mascara,so they both have their plus`s. Both also have great texture, its just one is 39.00 dollars cheaper and offers much more variety. Never the less both palettes have me excited and ready to explore the world of eyeshadows!
