Drugstore Liquid Eyeliner Haul

Ever since I first started using makeup, I`ve always only used gel liners. I find that they are easy to use and quite smudge proof. However, for some reason, I have been really into liquid eyeliners lately. I love the fact that the black ones are usually a very dark and intense black. The only problem is that you need a steady hand to apply liquid eyeliners.

So the 3 liquid liners I grabbed at Shopper Drug Mart are the Physician`s Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 lash boosting eyeliner + serum (wow that was a mouthful), the Essence waterproof liquid eyeliner, and the Essence 100% splash-proof eyeliner pen. I got all of them in ultra black.

The Essence waterproof liquid eyeliner does the best job in terms of being waterproof. The Essence Splash-proof liner is the worst. I can even wash it off with just a splash of lukewarm water. I`m not sure why they would market something like this to be "splash-proof".

In terms of ease of application, I like the Essence Splash-proof liner the best. The tip is a thin felt tip that has the perfect amount of firmness to allow good control. I don`t like the Physician`s Formula one as the brush tip is too thin and too soft. I always have a hard time drawing a straight line with it. The Essence Waterproof Eyeliner is not bad either, but due to the thickness of the product, it always gets stuck on my eyelashes if I draw too closely to my lashline, which makes mascara application hard.

All in all, I`m not 100% satisfied with any of the 3 eyeliners. I know so many people who rave about the Physician`s Formula one, but it`s just not for me. I guess I`ll have to stick with my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner for now until I find a cheaper drugstore alternative.
