One of my favorite things to do at Disney is to head on over to Hollywood Studios and attend a drawing class. I went this past Saturday evening and ended up drawing Donald Duck. It was so much fun!
Drawing Class is kind of a `hidden secret` at Hollywood Studios. You kind of have to know about it and want to find it in order to get to it. It`s not like an attraction ride that has a giant sign and that you can see from far away. The drawing class is tucked away inside the building that actually used to be used for the real Disney animators. At Disney World`s animation studios, they drafted and made Pocahontas, Brother Bear, and Mulan. It`s cool to actually take a class in drawing in the same place where they drew those famous movies!
You never know which character you`re going to end up drawing, so it`s always a toss up on what you get. My one friend has drawn Tigger about 10 times now, haha. I really liked drawing Donald, though! Each class is about 15 minutes or so, so it`s pretty quick.
The animator takes you through the steps to drawing the character and it`s actually pretty simple and fun! My friend and I went up to the animator afterwards and had him comment and sign our drawings (Jesse is an awesome instructor - he has a great sense of humor and his instructions are really good!). I`m going to start a collection of all the drawings I`ve done!
