DOTN: Rice Congee (Porridge)

For dinner tonight, I didn`t feel like making a big meal so I decided to make some congee. What I did was wash some rice and put it in a big pot with some water and brought it to a boil. After it was boiling, I added some sliced pork that I had marinated with some salt. I also added some dried scallop that I had soaked for a while. And lastly, I added a couple slices of ginger. After boiling it at low heat for about almost an hour, I added some salt and cooked it for a little longer and it was ready to eat. Eating congee once in a while is good, it kinda cleans out your , shall I say, intenstines from all the fatty foods that we`ve been eating all week. Plain congee is even better for doing that too. And when I`m sick, that`s what I eat too.
