Hey Everyone!
This is a bit late, but I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving! I had so much to be thankful for this year, so I think I enjoyed it that much more :D This year, I didn`t spend Thanksgiving with my family because one of my close older friends from church said she would be spending Thanksgiving alone this year. She invited a few of us over for dinner, so I thought I`d go over and keep her company instead of having her spend it alone. My boyfriend, who is an international student, also has no family here, so I thought it would be a great idea if we all gathered and spent it together :)

We decided that it would be a potluck style dinner, so everyone brought a dish of their own. My boyfriend and I brought disposable plates, forks, spoons, etc. so that our friend wouldn`t have to clean too much up after we finished eating. We also made a Korean boiled pork dish, called Bossam () to take with us. It`s basically a pork belly dish that`s boiled in water with soybean paste, onions, scallions, and ginger. It`s super delicious and tender! You can eat it wrapped in lettuce and pepper bean paste/soybean paste sauce, or just eat it alone :D

American-Style Side of the Meal:
Turkey, of course! (Made by the host :D)
Baked Ham
Mashed Potatoes & Gravy
Sweet Potato Casserole
Bread Rolls
Cranberry Sauce
Ribs (not traditional, but still American-style :P)

Since this isn`t a traditional holiday for people outside of the US/Canada, most Koreans living in the US that I know celebrate American Thanksgiving with Korean food as well!

Korean-Style Side of the Meal:
Boiled Pork (Bossam/) x2 - we brought some and someone else did too
Fried Kimchi "Pancakes" ()

Dessert (not pictured):
Tiramisu (homemade by the host! ^^)
Brownies (homemade by the host`s friend :D)

I apologize for not capturing these desserts, but I was in a major food coma....hehe.

The meal was absolutely delicious, but I have to say, the fellowship with everyone was even better ^^ We played a ton of group games, like Mafia and Signs, and just laughed the night away :D I`m definitely blessed to have so many great people in my life, and I`m glad I got to spend this Thanksgiving with them! I`m always reminded to count my blessings when I`m with them, and I believe my life has been much more positive as a result :)

Tell Me: What do you think of this Thanksgiving Meal? Does your family or anyone you know have a culturally diverse Thanksgiving meal? How did you spend your Thanksgiving and what are you thankful for? Let me know in your comments below! :D

As always, feel free to rate this post, add me as a friend, or follow me ^^ If you`re feeling extra loving, you`re more than welcome to do all three!
