DOTD: Spaghetti with Butternut Squash Cream Sauce

Just a quick post to share with you what I had for dinner today. Over the weekend we went to something like a <em>Pumpkin Festival</em> where they have an exhibition about different types of pumpkins and also have a farm shop where you can buy regional and fresh products.

We brought home a small butternut squash that we had for dinner today with some spaghetti. The butternut squash was cut in cubes and then sauteed with onions and some garlic. Then we added some salt, pepper, herbs and a cup of creme fraiche to create a delicious cream sauce. Everything was topped off with a bit of shredded parmesan cheese. This dish tasted really delicious but I would have hoped the butternut squash had some kind of special flavor. It was said to taste like peanut but to me it didn`t taste much different from other pumpkins I`ve tried.
